Overview
The Steel Engineer - Buildings must demonstrate experience in the analysis and design of steel frames and components for diverse building typologies, including educational facilities, museums, residential developments, stadiums, pedestrian bridges, and airport structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis design of steel frames/components in buildings like education buildings, museums, residential buildings, stadiums, pedestrian bridges and airports.
  • Designing cast in place concrete buildings and/or foundations.
  • Experience with structural loads, load paths, and system behavior
  • Delegate and lead a team of engineers, technicians to deliver quality drawings and documents.
  • Prepare detailed scope documentation, design criteria reports, technical specifications, and formal presentations.
  • Coordinate with architectural and MEP disciplines to optimize structural systems and minimize rework.
  • Estimate, plan and deploy resources to match project requirements to meet deadlines.
  • Prepare specifications, technical reports and presentations.
  • Anticipate Architectural, and MEP requirements and plan structure system accordingly avoiding abortive works.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve structural engineering problems encountered during design process.
  • Provide mentorship for junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
  • Candidate should have core design experience of at least 5 years (with up to 10 years) in steel and concrete structures.
  • Fluent in English with strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with international peers.
  • Experience of using software like Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Bluebeam Revu, Bentley, RAM Structural Systems, RAM Concept, RAM Elements, SAP, ETABs, SAFE, CSI, RISA, Sofistik, TEDDS, ENERCALC. Work experience with American codes preferred.
  • Knowledge of steel-concrete composite design, vibration analysis of floors etc.
  • Proficient in the design of cast-in-place concrete buildings and foundations, with strong working knowledge of applicable American codes and standards preferred.
  • Should be open for short travel and deputation to other countries/offices, when required.
  • Construction site experience is preferred.
  • Stay updated in the latest industry trends.

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree in structural engineering.
  • Experience with design in materials other than steel, such as concrete, masonry, and/or wood.
  • Experience working with projects with a high level of architectural detail with complex architectural features.
  • Proven capacity to handle several assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
